SHA-1 encryption secures all purchase data that passes through the Stripe platform.

3D-Secure (or 3DS) protects merchants and buyers against fraudulent use of bank cards by adding a second level of security when completing a payment.

 

After entering your bank details, you are redirected to your bank’s website and must confirm that you are the cardholder used for the payment via an authentication method: a code sent by SMS or entering your date of birth, for example.

 

3D-Secure is an essential fraud prevention measure as any potential fraudster will find their task significantly complicated by this second level of authentication.

 

It has been proven that 3D-Secure reduces the rate of unpaid transactions due to fraud.

 

 

When you make a purchase on midea.lu via STRIPE, you are directed to a fully secure STRIPE payment page using the HTTPS protocol. The payment process is therefore carried out directly on the secure STRIPE server.

 

Sensitive data, such as your bank card number and expiry date, is fully encrypted and protected using a TLS protocol to prevent the exchanged information from being intercepted in plain text by a third party during the transaction.

 

Card numbers are encrypted instantly and are not accessible by STRIPE merchants.

 

Furthermore, STRIPE does not store card numbers and relies on a secure infrastructure that complies with the international PCI-DSS standard.

 

All pages on the STRIPE website, as well as transmission links, are secured with TLS and have a Thawte Extended Validation security certificate.
